Media Molecule Ltd. is a British video game developer owned by PlayStation Studios. It was founded in 2006, succeeding Lionhead Studios.

In June 2006, Media Molecule signed a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment, which allowed them to create a game exclusive game for PS3.[1][2]

In 2008, LittleBigPlanet was released exclusively to PlayStation 3. Media Molecule would then develop LittleBigPlanet 2 in 2011 and start their Tearaway series.
