Montenegrins

Montenegrins are described today as people from the country of Montenegro or people of Montenegrin ethnicity. Before the Yugoslav Wars the first description was more about the area of what today is Montenegro. Before the Yugoslav Wars the latter description was not widely used as before the Yugoslav Wars Montenegrins were not described as an ethnic group but rather as a geographical term.But Josip Broz Tito played off Montenegrin as an ethnicity. And when Montenegrins wanted independence from 2006-2010,this description became used by Montenegrins themselves.
