Mordechai Yissachar Ber Leifer

Mordechai Yissachar Ber Leifer (Hebrew: מרדכי יששכר בער לייפער; 1955 – October 4, 2020) was an American rabbi. He was the third Rebbe of the Pittsburgh Hasidic dynasty. He was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was well known for being in charge of the Hasidim in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Beit Hilkia, New York City, and California.[1]
He was a Torah scholar and musical composer, he led the Hasidut for three decades until his death in 2020.
Yissachar was hospitalized with COVID-19 at a hospital in Netanya in August 2020.[2] He died from the infection on October 4, 2020 at the age of 64.[3]
