Naomi Judd (born Diana Ellen Judd; January 11, 1946 – April 30, 2022) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and activist.
Judd was married to Michael Ciminella from 1964 to 1972.[1] She married Larry Strickland in 1989.[2] Naomi was the mother of Christina Ciminella (aka Wynonna Judd) and Ashley. Ashley is an American movie and stage actress. Naomi and daughter Wynonna formed a successful country singing duo called The Judds. That group ended after Naomi was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1990.[3] Judd was also a writer.
After her last tour, Judd had depression, anxiety, panic attacks, edema, baldness, tremors and suicidal thoughts.[4]
Judd shot herself on April 30, 2022 in Franklin, Tennessee at the age of 76.[5][6][7] She had mental health issues such as depression.[8] The day after her death, The Judds were honored into the Country Music Hall of Fame.[9]
