National Council (Austria)

The National Council (German: Nationalrat) is one of the two houses of the Austrian Parliament. It is known as the lower house. The constitution gives the National Council with more power than the Federal Council.[1] The 183 members of the National Council are elected by nationwide popular vote for a term of five years.
