Nigerian Pidgin

Nigerian Pidgin or West African Pidgin is a creole language spoken in Nigeria. It is based on English. It has few first language speakers, but is used as a lingua franca by many Nigerians.

Nigerian Pidgin is mostly used in informal conversations. It has no status as an official language. Nigerian Standard English is used in politics, the internet and some television programs.
