On 24 November 2021, an inflatable dinghy carrying migrants from France to the United Kingdom flipped over in the English Channel. This killed 27 of the 30 people on board. It is believed to be the deadliest incident in the English Channel.[1]
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was "shocked, appalled and deeply saddened" by the incident.[2]
