Online streamer

An online streamer or live streamer is an type of social media influencer who broadcasts themselves online through a live stream to an audience.[1] There are different formats:

  • People show how they play video games.
  • People show themselves using a webcam, this is often done in the context of producing pornography; such people are known as webcam models]ö.
  • People show their daily lives, walking around using a webcam.

Very often, people use advertising, or product placement to generate some earnings. Sometimes, people also have a pay per view model. This is often the case for streaming in the context of producing pornography.
