Overcooked 2 is a cooking simulation video game. It was published by Team17 and was developed by Team17 and Ghost Town Games.[1]

It was released on August 7, 2018 for the Linux, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. It was also released on October 20, 2020 for the Amazon Luna, November 10, 2020 for the Xbox Series X/S, November 12 and November 19, 2020 for PlayStation 5, and May 5, 2022 for Google Stadia.[2][3][4][5]

Like in the last game, the player plays as a chef and works alongside other chefs to cook and serve different meals for customers and clean dishes under a certain amount of time. New features in the game include new levels, themes for restaurants, costumes, recipes, and online matchmaking.[6]

It is the sequel to the 2016 video game Overcooked.

Reception[change | change source]

The game recieved good reviews by game critics. Critics said that they like the design of the levels, gameplay, co-op mode, and harder difficulty. However, some critics said that they didn't like the slow gameplay, recipes on the Switch version, and felt that the level's gimmicks were not consistent.[7][8][9][10][11]

Overcooked won Best Family Game at The Game Awards in 2018.[12]
