Port Coquitlam is a city in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The population of Port Coquitlam was 61,498 in 2021. The mayor of Port Coquitlam is Brad West. The first European settlement in Port Coquitlam was established in 1859 although the Coast Salish people lived in and around the area first.[1] The city is also nicknamed "PoCo" for short. In 2008, the city was ranked #85 for its murder rate which is for Canadian cities with a population over 50,000.[2]
