Potomac, Maryland

Potomac (audio speaker iconlisten ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, named for the nearby Potomac River. In the 2020 United States Census, the population was 47,018.[1]

In 2013, CNNMoney listed Potomac as the most affluent town in all the United States based on median household income.[2] Potomac is also the seventh-most top-educated American small town according to Forbes.[3]

In 2018, data from the American Community Survey revealed that Potomac was the sixth-richest city in the United States.[4]
