Princess Haya bint Hussein (Arabic: الأميرة هيا بنت الحسين; born 3 May 1974) is the daughter of King Hussein of Jordan and his third wife Queen Alia. She is the half-sister of King Abdullah II.[1]

In 2004, Princess Haya became the second official wife of the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In 2019, Princess Haya escaped Dubai with the two children of the marriage to live in the United Kingdom.[2] Subsequent court battles ensued, which ended in Princess Haya gaining political refuge for herself and her children from the UK Government through diplomatic immunity as an Ambassador for Jordan. Princess Haya gained sole custody and a ruling giving her the divorce she sought.
