Rob van Eijck (26 October 1948 – 8 February 2025) was a Dutch comics historian, comics artist artist, illustrator and translator.
As comic artist he wrote De Opstand der Bataven (1982). He wrote the prose for albums of Epoxy (comic) of Jean Van Hamme, The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec and Rahan. He translated among others Batman, Black Orchid, Cannon, Conan, Tarzan and Watchmen into Dutch. He wrote wrote many articles for comics magazines Stripschrift and Brabant Strip Magazine.[1][2] He won the P. Hans Frankfurtherprijs in 2018.[3] He worked on the biography of Hans G. Kresse from 2017 to 2022.[4]
Van Eijck died on 8 February 2025, at the age of 76, from a fall at home a few weeks earlier.[2][1]
