Salvador Giner

Salvador Giner i de San Julián (10 February 1934 – 19 October 2019) was a Spanish sociologist. He was the president of the Institute of Catalan Studies between 2005 and 2013. He studied at the University of Chicago. He was an editor and consultant of the Great Catalan Encyclopedia and of several national and international journals and reviews. He was born in Barcelona.
He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea in 2013.[1]
Giner died on 19 October 2019, in Barcelona at the age of 85.[2]
