Stephen Laffey /ˈlæfiː/ (born 1962) is an American politician, businessman, author and filmmaker.[1] He is the former Republican mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island from 2003 to 2007. He ran for the United States Senate in 2006.
In February 2023, Laffey announced his candidacy for President of the United States in the 2024 election.[2] In October 2023, he withdrew from the race and the Republican Party to become an Independent.[3]
