Stuart Alan Rice (January 6, 1932 – December 22, 2024) was an American theoretical chemist and physical chemist.[1] He was a professor at the University of Chicago. During his time at the University of Chicago, Rice trained more than 100 Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers.[2] He received the National Medal of Science in 1999.[1]

Rice died on December 22, 2024 at his home in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 92.[3]
