- 44 million speakers in the state: OK, out of how many people in total living in the state?
- The most widely spoken language there: OK, in how many languages does the state use for its communication to the public?

- In the article https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kannada , after the sub-section titled "Language profile", it is said:
- "By about 3000 it had morphed into the Kannada and Telugu scripts" !
