- Didn't the first sentence in the article answer that question simply enough? Blockinblox 20:21, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently not! I know a little biology, and the first paragraph uses a bunch of unfamiliar terms to a non-science person, such as peptide bonds. MeekMark (talk) 00:20, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- I tried improving the intro. I agree with your point, and thought I was going to perhaps de-jargonify it somehow, but now I think leaving the jargon as is actually works, because with a little follow up sentence it maintains early links to important related concepts, then the follow up helps set up why those things matter, and why proteins matter. Then the rest of the intro section expands on those pitched ideas but with proper terms. Hill-Hand (talk) 01:50, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Expansion
[change source]If there are no objections (and if I find the time), I might expand this article. P. D. Cook Talk to me! 00:25, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- Sure! The worst that could happen is someone modifies or deletes your additions. This article does need some more information in it to stand alone. MeekMark (talk) 00:20, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
