Wondering if Adobe clay is also Terracotta Clay?

- The colour develops when the clay is fired if the clay has iron oxides in it. Terracotta is just a name given to ceramics made from that type of clay. Adobe clay is a bit more complex because it has straw, dung and sand mixed in. The adobe bricks are dried in the sun rather than being baked in a kiln.
