Talk:The Simpsons
Split
[change source]I believe that the characters sub-section should be seperated into a seperate article due to its length and irrelevance to Simpsons show (Cultural impact, Reactions, or Merchandise). I think a new article should be created called "List of Characters in the Simpsons". Only keep the five main characters in this article. Any thoughts? Slickshooter001 08:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- The article doesn't have the length needed for a split at this time. If enough information were added in the areas mentioned and others to get the article into the 25K+ range, then a split may be needed (definitely if over 35K), but currently the article is just a stub without the list of characters (actually, it is just a stub with the list of characters... two paragraphs and a list of questionable value.) We don't need two stubs or even two 3-4k (with all the iw's in them) articles when they can be combined into a more decent sized article. -- Creol(talk) 08:34, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem. You are right about the article being small, I can see now. Luckily I asked before I attempted to do any reconfiguration on my own. Slickshooter001 04:13, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Pictures
[change source]Since the Simpsons is a TV show, people can borrow pictures from the Simpsons filmmakers and add the pictures to the article. Or, people may search for pictures at other wikipedias and add the pictures to the article. Coffsneeze 01:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Character pages
[change source]I want to write a seperate page in Simple Wiki for all The Simpson characters, but I can't make ones on each member in The Simpson family because there is already an article on them which links to this page. How do I stop that so that they can have their own pages concentrating only on them like on English Wiki?

- If you feel there is enough content to create separate pages for the characters, this is how you would go about it:
- Type the name in the search with the correct capitalization (for example: Bart Simpson)
- It will redirect to The Simpsons, as you said it would
- Underneath the article title you should see (Redirected from Bart Simpson)
- Click on the link to the character page
- Delete "#redirect [[The Simpsons]]" and edit the page as you normally would
- Keep in mind that at this time we are trying to work on the most important articles (see WP:CORE). I am not trying to say that you should not create these pages, I am simply saying that there might be more useful ways for you to contribute. I hope that this helps you. · Tygartl1·talk· 18:28, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks very much for your feedback, and you're right. I should spend more time on more useful things. Just one quick question:
- I've contributed to some of the articles on the list of articles all languages should have (such as Asexual reproduction and the lung and I want to do more since Biology is my passion. But when an article has sufficiant information do I delete the link to it on that page since there is no need to still have it on Simple English Wikipedia?
- Thanks again for the quick response.

Changes
[change source]Hey guys. Looking at this revision I think we should keep "The line is always supposed to be comic." and "After Homer Simpson is almost or is hit by Marge's car". Currently it says the line is funny, which is not a neutral POV, however saying it is supposed to be funny is. The second is just true(Would need a source to avoid WP:OR). Thoughts? I would wirte more, but I'm typing with one hand and it's painful.--Gordonrox24 | Talk`
- I was just thinking along the same lines myself. :) Maybe it could be worded more simply, but I think the last version was okay in terms of NPOV and should be kept. I hope your hand gets better soon, Gordon. Cordially, —Clementina talk 02:00, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
