The Croods: A New Age (also known as Croods 2: A New Age or just Croods 2) is a 2020 American computer-animated action/comedy movie directed by Joel Crawford. It is a sequel to the 2013 animated movie The Croods. It was released on November 25, 2020. It received good reviews from critics.

The Croods need to find a new place to live. So the first prehistoric family sets out into the world in search of a safer place to call home. When they discover an idyllic walled paradise that meets all their needs, they think their problems are solved… except for one thing. Another family, the Bettermans (that means “better people,” as they say), is already living there.

With their elaborate tree houses, amazing inventions, and irrigated acres of fresh produce, the Bettermans are a few notches above the Croods in civility. When they welcome the Croods as their first guests into the world, tensions soon escalate between the cave-dwelling and modern families. The Bettermans want Maloy to stay with them while the Croods return to the wild without him. There is only one rule in their cozy paradise: no bananas, which Grug breaks. It turns out that Phil Betterman has diverted water from a distant waterfall to create an idyll, but is then forced to pay tribute in bananas to an unknown beast. With no bananas available this time, the beast - little monkeys - break down the wall and kidnap the men. It turns out that Ba was the leader of the female warriors "The Terrible Sisters" in her youth. She has a personal spy and scout: an animal that imitates her hairstyle (Ba herself has long since gone bald). With his help, Ba finds out where Grug, Phil and Small were taken. The women and Tunk, led by Ba, set off to rescue them. Thanks to Zarya, the wolf-spiders join them.

The monkeys say that they once lived in a developed society until the water ran out for some unknown reason, causing a decline. The little monkeys were forced to pay tribute to the giant monkey. With no harvest, they began taking fruit from the Bettermans outside the wall. This time there are no bananas at all, and the men are wrapped as bananas for sacrifice. The women and Tunk appear on wolf-spiders, and after a long fight, they defeat the giant monkey. The Bettermans, the Croods, and the little monkeys live together, now without the wall. Gip and Little have settled into a separate hut, and Sandy has spoken her first word.
