It stars Margaret Sullivan, James Stewart, Robert Young, Robert Stack, Frank Morgan, Irene Rich, Ward Bond, Esther Dale and was distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The movie shows the impact on Germans after Adolf Hitler becomes chancellor of Germany and a dictator.
A year after the film's release, Stewart began serving in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.
