Thomas Dähne (born 4 January 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Holstein Kiel.
Club career
[change | change source]Thomas Dähne started his career with TSV 1860 Rosenheim, before moving to the youth teams of Red Bull Salzburg. He then went on to the youth teams of FC Red Bull Salzburg. He played his first match for the Red Bull Juniors on 29 April 2010 in the third league match against TSV St. Johann.[1] He became the main goalkeeper for FC Liefering. He made his debut on 26 May 2013 in a win against FK Austria Wien.
Dähne moved to RB Leipzig for the 2014/15 season. After just one season, however, he left Leipzig again without having played a single game for the first team. From 2015 to 2017, Dähne played for Finnish first division club HJK Helsinki in the Veikkausliga. From January 2018, he was under contract with Polish first division club Wisła Płock in the Ekstraklasa for two and a half years. In the summer of 2020 he returned to Germany and joined second division club Holstein Kiel.
International
[change | change source]Dähne represented Germany in all youth teams up to the Under-20's team.[2] He was goalkeeper during the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.[3]
