The University of Coimbra (UC; Portuguese: Universidade de Coimbra, pronounced: [univɨɾsiˈðad(ɨ) dɨ kuˈĩbɾɐ]) is a public research university in Coimbra, Portugal. The university is one of the oldest active universities in the world. In 2013, UNESCO made the university a World Heritage Site.[2]
