Presentation
[change | change source]I'm at the theatre school of Saint-Hyacinthe's college [1]. I'm an art freak. I am studying in set and costume design especially to be a set designer. I have a big interest in fine arts, architecture, history, music and literature. I'm always looking for knowledge about new artistic currents, new directors, new composers, new art directors... I want to know who's the most influent, the most talented, the most creative... I lost myself in this world and I think that it's the beautifulest thing that can happen to me.
On Wikipedia, I'll talk about a set designer that I learned the existence not so long ago. His name is Derek Mclane.Today, he's drawing sets for Broadway's productions in New York City. I'm glad to show you how he works and how he begins in the profession. Maybe it will help you to understand what kind of job I want to do and what is the responsibilities that I'll have to deal with.
I hope that I'll be able to teach you a little bit more about Broadway and theatre in general. Hope you'll like it!
Nicolas.
My experience with Wikipedia
[change | change source]I found this original project very interesting. I'm not a person who love to learn with Internet and computers, I prefer the old way with books and real paper, but it's kind of a new project that miss Pearson developed to better entertain the next generation I think. And it works! We are so familiar with this new world: technology's world. Some students just need this passion to improve their knowledge I think, if not they'll probably go away and tells everybody to go to hell! Sadly.
The project develops a sense of ownership on students because they feel that they can finally take part of something. It's not just a class with grammar lessons, it's a big amagalm of our learning that we'll bring alive on Wikipedia!
Nicolas.
