Crat cat

[change source]

Hi Chenzw. I've just taken the liberty of creating Category:Wikipedia bureaucrats - perhaps you'd like to add yourself? I think this kind of categorisation is useful, particularly for users seeking a 'crat... Anyway, it's there... The Rambling Man (talk) 18:33, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Chenzw,

Just a friendly reminder that TRM's RfCU needs closing 17 hours ago :).

Question

[change source]

Can I ask what the problem was with the Dundonian page that was created? What could I do to make the notation notable? Your advice would be most welcomed.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.41.96.60 (talkcontribs)

There is no page for it on the english wikipedia either, that should be enough to make it "un-notable" (not notable enough). It is however on english Wiktionary, so maybe you could create it on the Simple english wiktionary. Regards, Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 15:24, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Limited RfA

[change source]

Hey Chenzw. I've created an RfA (Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/EhJJ (limited)‎) to get community consensus on whether I should be allowed the admin tools for the purpose of migrating Twinkle to SEpedia. I'd like to get your opinion on the proposal before I publish it. Since you created the Wikipedia:Twinkle page and are a Bureaucrat, I figured you'd be the best first person to ask. Thanks! EhJJTALK 22:31, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary adminship is always a problem for wikis. While I understand your intentions, we have an active community (not to mention administrators) and thus this is not feasible as administrators are on hand to help out. This is also the reason why Meta generally grants the temp flag to users on small wikis (or with an inactive community) only. Chenzw  Talk  02:11, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Thanks for the input. EhJJTALK 03:28, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Chenzw. As Yotcmdr was my first RfA closure, could you just confirm I have done everything? I have closed, archived and removed the RfA. I have granted the permission. I have informed the user, and added him to MediaWiki:Gadget-HighlightAdmins.js - Is there anything else I have missed? Kennedy (talk) 09:08, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, update the list at Wikipedia:Administrators... ;) Chenzw  Talk  09:29, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, BG7 got it this time, but I'll remember for next :) Thanks Kennedy (talk) 09:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The QandA. Every month, Kennedy interviews one of the Simple English Wikipedia's editors, asking them about themselves, and their opinions on Wikipedia. It is an exciting insight behind the anonymous face of an online username.

This weeks interview is with Steve Crossin and was taken by guest interviewer Bluegoblin7.
