Wikibreak
[change source]Hi, I'd like to ask you to indefinitely block my account (autoblock disabled, talk page access off) to enforce an indefinite wikibreak. I would use the wikibreak enforcer, but that has a set time. Also, before you do it, please leave a message on my talk page saying you are ready to do it, so I can get my userpage and talk page ready. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FNAFPUPPETMASTER (talk • contribs)
- (talk page stalker) We don't block upon request like that. It is up to yourself to prevert yourself from logging in. -DJSasso (talk) 16:11, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
"movie" vs. "film" in category names closing
[change source]Hi, thanks for your closing summary on this. I have come to this page as I seem to have upset a couple of editors. If I understand it correctly...
- if a film is called a 'movie' in the page title, the word 'film' should not be used in the article (apart from quotations, citations and organisation names).
- there was consensus to use only movie in film page titles.
- this consensus from a decade or more ago cannot ever be changed.
- we can have a page with 'film' in the title as a redirect to the 'movie' page - or not ?
If this is the consensus then it would be good to spell this out as a 'rule'. It will help new editors and those copying over pages from en: (where film is widely used). The annomoly of having all these 'film' references on movie pages should also be better explained for English language learners. -- Brian R Hunter (talk) 16:11, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Can't speak for him but for your second point it has been in our MOS for years Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Movies. -DJSasso (talk) 16:16, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- (change conflict) You are correct except for the 3rd point: the consensus can change if the community decides on a new course of action. However, in the earlier closed discussion, that did not take place. In the absence of a new consensus, we revert to previously established consensus. Indeed, the mention of "movie" in WP:MOS is potentially ambiguous because it could have been interpreted as merely an example of disambiguation (it is not, btw). As I noted in the closing statement, someone did point this out in the 2008 confirmation, but unfortunately no one managed to mobilise the editorial resources (at that time) to create the page detailing the movie vs film distinction. Chenzw Talk 16:23, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, I shall leave it for those committed to 'movie' to correct the WP:MOS to reflect the situation. I will reiterate that there is a need for clarity for new editors beyond the 'do as I say' messages that many receive. -- Brian R Hunter (talk) 16:29, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Just one last issue that might need spelling out as a rule. If the page is about a 'film' but the page title does not have (movie) added; can the 'film' word be used (as consistent british english) or does 'movie' always apply? -- Brian R Hunter (talk) 16:38, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- No, please use "movie" in such a case. The community has established that the use of "film" is not simple due to the word having different meanings depending on the context. The simplicity argument was alluded to in RfD Log 2 and Archive 18 of ST. This is not an ENGVAR issue, and some have also noticed that the the line between American English and British English when it comes to movie/film is extremely blur (if it even exists). I will amend my closing statement on ST to clarify this. Chenzw Talk 16:49, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

Page: Deep decision tree
[change source]Dear Chenzw,
According the description on https://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Deep_decision_tree&action=edit&redlink=1 the page "Deep decision tree" is deleted from your account (00:23, 7 February 2020). But this action is not in your change list. Is this really your action? Or there is again accounts of other administrators are used to perform hidden aggression?
- Deletion actions are not recorded in Special:Contributions ("change list"), but in Special:Log/Chenzw. Your allegations of "hidden aggression" are not appreciated. Chenzw Talk 09:42, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Regarding Deletion of my Page- Harp by Nidhi Dalmia
[change source]Hi,
I published my page on Harp by Nidhi Dalmia. It was deleted the instant it was published. As I am new to Wikipedia, requesting your guidance as to why it has been deleted so that I can make the necessary changes.
Thankyou!
Harp- Nidhi Dalmia (talk) 09:55, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- As you might have noticed in the deletion reason (the same place you noticed that I was the deleting administrator), the article was deleted as an advertisement. For a subject to be included in Wikipedia, there must be significant coverage of the topic/subject in reliable and independent sources. For example, citing mere product listings does not constitute significant coverage. Please also see Wikipedia:Notability for more information. Chenzw Talk 10:01, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
