Question about Requesting permission
Hello dear @Ferien i have a question it is related to another wiki however i am just asking about your experience, if we have enough patrollers to patrol the pages,so an admin can refuse someone's Request to be a patrol due to Enough or not Enough numbers of patrollers? 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 12:48, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Unlike on other wikis, generally, you would need to have a really large amount of articles created (even more than how much someone who's a good regular content creator like Haoreima would have created). I'd say too much that the backlog is too much. Probably the rate of articles that TDKR Chicago 101 would be creating.
- In my opinion, I'd have wished that autopatrol was a different right to patrol, where patrol doesn't mark your own articles as patrolled. SHB2000 (talk) 13:18, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: There was actually a discussion about this a few months ago. See Wikipedia:Simple talk/Archive 134#Patrolling new pages. --Ferien (talk) 14:14, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @SHB2000: How can you say I am good regular creator? Yes, I am regular but not good enough till now! I am still learning from many wiki-people including you! :) :-) Haoreima (talk) 14:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- you have created about 600 articles though. SHB2000 (talk) 22:24, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @SHB2000: How can you say I am good regular creator? Yes, I am regular but not good enough till now! I am still learning from many wiki-people including you! :) :-) Haoreima (talk) 14:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @SHB2000: Somebody at the rate of TDKR would be impossible. He's created about a 5th of this wiki's articles. If you see, Darkfrog24 has patroller, though at a much lower rate, about 5 times of mine. Also please note Simple Wiki has a really small number of good editors, most of which are busy undoing vandalism and trying to help occasionally... that being said, @Haoreima is a regular editor, but he has a lot to learn, especially about sourcing and notability.
- Again, the main purpose is Wikipedia is to build an encyclopedia, not get enough patrollers.

- SHB2000 Yes, Elytrian is right. And as I am not good enough till now, I need to learn a lot, even from you. I am a learner as well as a practitioner, trying to develop wiki better. Any good suggestions are always welcomed. Thanks! Haoreima (talk) 16:54, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- "Lack of experience" is a self-solving problem. If Haoreima remains interested in working on Simple, Haoreima will be a patroller on Simple just by continuing on their current path. Darkfrog24 (talk) 18:38, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- You'll eventually get patroller, given that only 1% of your articles have had issues. But as time goes, you'd eventually get patroller status and learn all the policies. Although I didn't realise that Darkfrog24 was a patroller though, and it also seems like Jeff G. is also a patroller too. SHB2000 (talk) 04:41, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: I will try to patrol more here. — Jeff G. ツ 05:15, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Somebody at the rate of TDKR would be impossible. He's created about a 5th of this wiki's articles okay, so I've clearly underestimated how much articles TDKR Chicago 101 has created and didn't realise that they have about 161k edits. That is quite a lot. SHB2000 (talk) 04:43, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Xavier 500.30.10 might be UnknownEditor1234567890
Hi.
I just noticed that Xavier 500.30.10 changed UnknownEditor123467890's talk page [1] to remove the warning about Mohammad Shanooj
I wonder if they are sockpuppets? Blissyu2 (talk) 12:35, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Blissyu2, I've blocked for block/lock evasion. --Ferien (talk) 12:38, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I also noticed that Xavier 500.30.10 seems to have recreated Mohammad Shanooj's page twice after being deleted. I wonder if he might create more sockpuppets soon. Blissyu2 (talk) 12:40, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hence why I reported the account to ANV. But I think this is the fourth time that page has been deleted (also under Mohammad Shanooj (singer) and there must be one more page that I'm missing. Seems protection is the only way. SHB2000 (talk) 14:19, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- also, it seems now the seventh, not the fourth only under Mohammad Shanooj SHB2000 (talk) 14:23, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

- A more efficient way of sending changes from Wikidata to Wikimedia wikis that show them has been enabled for the following 10 wikis: mediawiki.org, the Italian, Catalan, Hebrew and Vietnamese Wikipedias, French Wikisource, and English Wikivoygage, Wikibooks, Wiktionary and Wikinews. If you notice anything strange about how changes from Wikidata appear in recent changes or your watchlist on those wikis you can let the developers know.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 5 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 6 October. It will be on all wikis from 7 October (calendar).
- Some gadgets and bots that use the API to read the AbuseFilter log might break. The
hidden

Threats from IP editors
Hi. You may have noticed this one [6]. I was accused of sock-puppeting, now POV pushing, all without any rationale at all. I guess this is a function of being more active in the community. Of note, it seems as if they are from slightly different IP addresses but all from the same company, so probably the same person. Not sure if that counts as sockpuppeting, but if they are pretending that it is coming from "multiple editors" and therefore "justifies a block", that may be an abuse. What do you think? Or should I just ignore such nonsense? Blissyu2 (talk) 00:27, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
And just for the record, I am voting in all RfDs and you may notice that the majority of my votes are delete. I'm just giving my honest opinion and trying my best to follow the guidelines. If I made a mistake in my interpretation, I am sorry, but there is no POV pushing or any agenda. I am just trying to be a good Wikipedia editor. That's my whole point of being here. I don't really like threats like that, and it all seems to be coming from the same IP editor. I don't know who he is or why he made these assumptions of bad faith, but it seems to have reached a point that I am quite worried about. Blissyu2 (talk) 00:35, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Not related to your whole thread here, but I saw that you wrote vote, Just a friendly reminder RFDs are not for 'votes' --Tsugaru Let's Talk! :) 🍁 00:46, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am well aware of that. I have repeatedly stated to this IP person that his attempts to discredit my opinion are unimportant because the RfD is not a vote. It's becoming quite irritating, and these latest threats seem to be an escalation of a growing issue with this particular person. I might be wrong, but they seem to be the same person logging in from a handful of slightly different IP addresses (all from the same company) who pretends that they have a majority view. I think that might constitute sockpuppeting, but I'm not sure. Blissyu2 (talk) 00:57, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. When the closing admin takes a look at the RFDs, they will probably take in to account which comments and valid and which are not. I would suggest leaving a notice on WP:AN, but let's see what Ferien says about this first though. --Tsugaru Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:58, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know why they are accusing you of using multiple accounts/IPs, I don't think you are at all. They don't have any evidence that you are a sockpuppet so they are casting aspersions. I'd ignore them. --Ferien (talk) 16:30, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I also noticed this one which accused me of casting a false keep vote and of accepting money for my vote, when I actually voted delete [7]. However, I note that after that someone who may be a paid editor wrote on my talk page, which is just plain bizarre. Blissyu2 (talk) 12:54, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- This is the probable paid editor: [8]. It seems fairly obvious to me but I might be wrong. It makes me wonder if the IP is actually trying to hide their own paid editing? I don't know. Quite bizarre. Blissyu2 (talk) 12:56, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello, a recent page that I'm creating has nominated for deletion from unexperience editor. Rilwanu Lukman he already has page on English Wikipedia DanAmari44 (talk) 17:16, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: I just had a look at this and there seems to be a bit of a dispute between DanAmari44 and 512 megabytes in relation to the article on Rilwanu Lukman. As I am not involved in that, I'd like to give my view. Rilwanu Lukman is, in my view, a very notable figure with articles on 4 other Wikis and, while any editor has every right to nominate any article for deletion, it seems on this occasion that 512 megabytes was probably wrong in nominating that (though the RfD is still ongoing and a decision has not been made yet). DanAmari44 responded to it being nominated for deletion with some quite inappropriate responses, by removing the RfD tag and blanking the RfD page (etc), which I think, outside of Wikipedia, is a normal reaction to someone behaving badly (which I would guess is how DanAmari44 has viewed 512 megabytes's reaction). This is compounded by 512 megabytes then putting 2 warnings on DanAmari44's page, when he was the one who nominated it for deletion and therefore is involved. So my view is that 512 megabytes shouldn't have been the one to give the warnings, and it would be helpful if an uninvolved editor tried to sort it out. While clearly DanAmari44's responses are inappropriate, they may be well-meaning and represent a misunderstanding of the process. It might not be, of course, as it could be that DanAmari44 is simply pretending to be new and is actually just disruptive. Who knows. But I think perhaps a bit of showing good faith could be a good move in this case, and perhaps work with DanAmari44. I checked DanAmari's other article that he created, and that one is on a notable subject too. It seems that DanAmari is translating notable subjects into Simple English, which is what we are supposed to be doing here. He is just reacting badly to being challenged. Page to be deleted - Obvious advertising
Good morning,
I wanted to report the following page:
https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabio_Raffaeli
This is blatant advertising, the entry is not encyclopaedic and a user (Allensyllos) keeps removing the quick deletion request. The character on the page in question is self-promoting for his real estate business in Dubai, any source given is self-promotional. He is blatantly doing this to legitimise his position for promotional purposes. The page has also been reported to other admins.

Regarding 68.132.133.66
I've been trying to push this IP user in the right direction but he continues to abuse his talk page after being blocked a second time. Can you go ahead and try to rectify the issue? 209.232.149.23 (talk) 17:19, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like Operator873 has already taken away talk page access. --Ferien (talk) 17:20, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Regarding my user talk page protection:
Thank you for protecting my user talk page while I was out: I had a power outage since Wednesday morning at 4:39AM with 26 seconds when it occurred. I was pretty much ignoring what those weird and disgusting messages that certain troll was sending me, even though I did look through my emails from time to time. :) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 10:28, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Can I get a test block to make sure it works
Please As an user I will stop vdsam (talk) 20:32, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- @As an user I will stop vdsam: No, I am not willing to give out test blocks. Blocks definitely work and prevent editing. --Ferien (talk) 20:38, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
