Welcome[change source]

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us! If you need any help, be sure to visit Simple Talk or contact an administrator. Happy changing! Hello, and thanks for the welcome message.
I am primarily active at English Wiktionary (in Tibetan and Hebrew entries there) and at English Wikipedia (in Earth Science- and Tibet-related topics).
I saw that you requested my User page be deleted for the reason of “obvious advertising”. My User page content is essentially the same for the 5-6 Wikimedia Project sites on which I actually maintain User pages, and I’ve never before received a complaint like this. It’s simply a description of the projects and interests I have, which is, according to my understanding, what many contributors put in the content of their User pages. The main difference between my User page here and those at en.wikipedia.org and en.wiktionary.org is I didn’t include userboxes, because it seems that many of them are missing here (which I may eventually add).
Anyway, one of my great interests is science communication, specifically in the Earth Sciences (from my User page you may note that I maintain several personal projects in this area), and I would be happy to contribute in this area here, if there is a need for it.
My first edit here came about as a kind of necessity, because I had updated a diagram on the en.wikipedia.org Yellowstone Caldera article that was full of errors and irrelevant information and poorly designed, and the same diagram happened to be used on multiple wiki pages, including on the YS article here at simple.wikipedia.org. However, the particular nature of this project demanded that I create a simplified version of that improved diagram. I enjoyed the experience of reshaping its content for consumption here—accessibility is very important in science communication, and as I have a propensity for verbosity and detail, creating content for this project would be good practice and go a long way towards becoming a better science communicator.
