Uwajima (宇和島市, Uwajima-shi) is a Japanese city in Ehime on the island of Shikoku.

Todo Takatora established a small domain at Uwa in 1595. The town developed around Uwajima Castle.[1]
A cadet branch of the Date clan was established at Uwajima in 1614.[2]
