Vandana Shiva

Vandana Shiva (born 5 November 1952) is an Indian scholar, writer, environmentalist and feminist.[1] Shiva has written more than 20 books.[2] Shiva was born in Dehradun, present-day Uttarakhand.

Shiva is one of the leaders and board members of the International Forum on Globalization (with Jerry Mander, Ralph Nader, and Jeremy Rifkin), and a figure of the anti-globalization movement.[3]

She has rejected use of Genetically modified food, even as relief food given to survivors of disasters[4]. Many have argued her arguments are Pseudoscientific.[5] Sri Lanka adopted her ideas, which led to their 2022-2024 economic crisis.[6]
