Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:SPI)

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IP addresses). Some administrators are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Please see the CheckUser policy for all the rules related to CheckUser.

The list of users with CheckUser access can be seen at: Special:ListUsers/checkuser.

The 1st user has made a biography of the 2nd user in their own userpage, and the context of the 1st user's user page ([1]) suggests that these users are related to each other in real world. Please also see the following abuse filter logs:

These logs show that the 1st user tried to edit the userpage of the 2nd user. MathXplore (talk) 23:28, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator observation) It seems like that Finnex de Star is the sock of user KENNY BzY, or I may be wrong here, because sometimes I don't know as much. But the Abuse log shows that they definitely tried to edit another user's page. I don't really know if it counts as sockpuppetry or not. 𝓐𝓭𝓮𝓵𝓪𝓲𝓭𝓮 (𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓼) 23:32, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I ran a check, and I have to say that with the infos I have, I cannot prove they are ther same user. They are from the same country, but they use different ISPs, so their IP addresses are different. Their bowsers are, too. So, from a CU point of view: no match, sorry Eptalon (talk) 15:58, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Eptalon: I have found more users related to these QD G11 and w:WP:NOTWEBHOST cases.
This user also caused a QD G11 case in their userpage and the 1st user also edited here. Please see the deleted revisions of user:Favy rexha.
This user tried to edit the userpage of the 1st user. Please see Special:AbuseLog/563380 and Special:AbuseLog/563381. MathXplore (talk) 02:27, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i actually gave him the access to my Wikipedia account so let him login Finnex de star (talk) 20:49, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Finnex de star, Please read en:WP:ROLE - Accounts must be used by one person and one person only, Sharing accounts will get you banned, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 20:57, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Administrator note: 1st user is blocked due to repeated QD G11 cases. MathXplore (talk) 02:21, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Administrator note: Deleted content of User:Bhadboi jozzylee suggests that this user is related to the 1st and 2nd user. MathXplore (talk) 08:47, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to note that users blocked in the same SPI are making edits here, and I wonder if this is OK or not.

Dear CUs, please decide if these users can stay in this project or not. MathXplore (talk) 15:07, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

After this report, Special:Contributions/185.244.154.0/24 removed RFD tag at Battle of Savujbulak (special:diff/10089171) as well as the 3rd user and another user (Baram231 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log))) arrived at the same page soon after this case (special:diff/10089190), possible plan to escape from CU. MathXplore (talk) 06:21, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also see this edit on en [2] where an ip in the /24 range admitted to being Tishreen07 while also active here Special:Contributions/185.244.154.116. The edits of late from that /24 are heavily pro-Kurd (which does make sense as it geolocates to Kurdistan) which is typical of Tishreen07's editing style. Hello, I have been dealing with this user on English Wikipedia for almost 2 months. They are constantly making socks. They steal not only my time but also the time of others and they enjoy it. Anyway, especially in this article (simple:List of battles involving Kurds), they do a lot of socks. I want this article to be examined and this is like their main article. They fill every siege or battle as a Kurdish victory. Also, all of the users you added to the investigation were confirmed and blocked on the English Wikipedia. I hope they will be blocked here too, thank you very much MathXplore! (I forgot to add this Tishreen07 was already blocked on Simple wikipedia. Thank you for the information. The 1st to the 6th user and Special:Contributions/185.244.154.0/24 is blocked, CU is open for the 7th user above (Cc: BRPever as initial blocker). MathXplore (talk) 23:40, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
7th user is confirmed with few other socks and blocked. BRP ever 02:32, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@BRPever: After I blocked Special:Contributions/185.244.154.0/24 and deleted Haydar Bey's Assyrian Expedition & Bedir Khan Beg's campaign against the Assyrians as QD G5, a new user (Rmsyz (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log))) has recreated them as Haydar Begs Assyrian Expedition and Badirkhan beg campaign against Assyrians. MathXplore (talk) 23:17, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, is very likely related, blocked.--BRP ever 10:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator note: /16 is blocked. MathXplore (talk) 12:28, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The 1st user is the original author of the article and they are CU-blocked by Fr33kman. The 2nd user recreated the page and the username is related to the article. MathXplore (talk) 12:41, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm reporting possible WP:EVASION at Dhandhor (also known as Dhadhor).

Please compare the 3rd and 4th user with the 1st and 2nd user. MathXplore (talk) 12:27, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The first and second user (GrilledSeatJet and MouthSkipper) have one IP address in common, ands have been blocked beforehand. I do however do not see IP overlaps with the third and fourth user (MihirDhorwa and Almakhhdum). These two do not have a common IP address, and they do not share an ip address with the first two. 2600:1700:D480:A020:9D1D:FE2A:3E89:9DD1 and You have not specified a valid username user

[change source]

I believe they could be the same user, I have reported the username to VIP but I want to run a check for this account, because I have noticed that they were editing each other's userpage. And spamming, so it was clear to me that they are the same user. 𝓐𝓭𝓮𝓵𝓪𝓲𝓭𝓮 (𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓼) 15:20, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The 1st user is the last blocked user in this page. After the block, w:WP:BANREVERT has been applied (special:diff/10090250). Recently, the 2nd user has reverted the w:WP:BANREVERT (special:diff/10103074). MathXplore (talk) 14:58, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Possible WP:EVASION. The 1st to the 4th user (blocked by me and BRPever) have made many changes to Battle of Savujbulak, and the 6th user is the last new user in this article. The 6th user also made changes to List of battles involving Kurds, and this overlaps with the 3rd to the 5th user (blocked by me and BRPever). MathXplore (talk) 15:06, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What about this user? [5] This user, like other socks, adds uncertain battles to that article. Even if they are not the same person, it seems like a coordinated action. What they all have in common is that they are pro-kurd. Kajmer05 (talk) 15:47, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
