Chenab Times Foundation (CTF) is a charitable trust based in the Chenab Valley region of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), India.[2][3] It is affiliated with The Chenab Times, a regional news portal.[4] The foundation works in the fields of journalism, public welfare,[5] and cultural preservation.[6][7][8]
Activities
[change | change source]Public Grievance Survey
[change | change source]In 2023, CTF launched a survey in Doda district to document and address public grievances at the panchayat level. The initiative aimed to collect data and advocate for solutions through journalism and direct engagement with local authorities.[9][10]
Media and Press Freedom
[change | change source]CTF is linked with The Chenab Times, which has covered social and political issues in the region. The foundation has been involved in disputes related to press freedom. In 2024, it filed a grievance with X (formerly Twitter) after the social media platform suspended The Chenab Times account.[11]
