Maryam Begum is an Indian philanthropist and the chairperson of the Chenab Times Foundation (CTF), a charitable trust based in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory).[1] She co-founded the organization, which is involved in linguistic preservation, public welfare, and journalism in the Chenab Valley.[2]

Maryam Begum co-founded the Chenab Times Foundation in 2023 and has since served as its chairperson.[3][4] The organization focuses on language documentation, journalism, and addressing public grievances.

Under her leadership, CTF has advocated for the preservation of endangered languages in the Chenab Valley, such as Bhaderwahi, Sarazi, and Kishtwari.[4] The foundation has also conducted public grievance surveys in the Doda district, aiming to document community concerns and promote effective governance.[5][6]
