Double or Nothing (2023) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view show made by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on May 28, 2023 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. It was the fifth Double or Nothing event held by AEW.
There were two main events promoted. The first main event saw the Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta) defeat The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and "Hangman" Adam Page) in an Anarchy in the Arena match. Yuta rolled up and pinned Omega after Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis interfered and Takeshita hit Omega with a knee strike. The second main event saw MJF defeat "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, and Darby Allin in a four-way match to keep his AEW World Championship.[2]
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter gave the Anarchy in the Arena match 5 stars out of 5 stars.[3]
Matches
[change | change source]- ↑ Since the Hardys and Hook won, Matt Hardy took ownership of Ethan Page's contract.
- ↑ Order of elimination: Tony Nese, Ari Daivari, Komander, Kip Sabian, Chuck Taylor, The Blade, The Butcher, Bandido, Lee Moriarty, Trent Beretta, Keith Lee, Rey Fénix, Juice Robinson, Jay White, Ricky Starks, Brian Cage, Dustin Rhodes, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Big Bill
- ↑ Gunn and The Acclaimed did not name any stiplulation for the match.
- ↑ Because Guevara won the Four Pillars Tournament on April 26, he was supposed to face MJF in a singles match for the AEW World Championship at the event. However, after winning the tournament, Tony Khan said that the match would only take place if Guevara and MJF could beat Perry and Allin in a tag team match. On May 3, Perry and Allin won the match, which turned the World Championship match into a four-way match.[5][6]
