Junya Ito (伊東 純也, Ito Junya, born March 9, 1993) is a Japanese football player. He plays for the Japan national team.
Biography
[change | change source]Ito was born in Yokosuka on March 9, 1993. After graduating from Kanagawa University, he joined J1 League club Ventforet Kofu in 2015. He played many matches as forward from first season. In 2016, he moved to Kashiwa Reysol. He played many matches as right midfielder in 3 seasons. However Kashiwa was relegated to J2 League end of the 2018 season. In February 2019, he moved to Belgian First Division A club Genk.
In November 2017, Ito was selected the Japan national team for 2017 E-1 Football Championship. At this tournament, he debuted against North Korea on December 9. In 2019, he participated 2019 Asian Cup. He played 5 matches and Japan won the 2nd place.
