Tsukasa Shiotani (塩谷 司, Shiotani Tsukasa, born December 5, 1988) is a Japanese football player. He played for the Japan national team.
Biography
[change | change source]Shiotani was born in Komatsushima on December 5, 1988. After graduating from Kokushikan University, he joined J2 League club Mito HollyHock in 2011. He played many matches as center back from first season. In August 2012, he moved to J1 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima. From 2013, he played many matches as right back of three back defense with Kazuhiko Chiba and Hiroki Mizumoto. Hiroshima won the J1 League champions in 2012, 2013 and 2015. He was also selected Best Eleven in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In June 2017, he moved to UAE Pro League club Al-Ain.
On October 10, 2014, Shiotani debuted as center back for the Japan national team against Jamaica. In 2016, he was also selected the Japan U-23 national team as over aged player for 2016 Summer Olympics. He played all 3 matches as center back with Naomichi Ueda. In 2019, he participated 2019 Asian Cup. He played 5 matches as defensive midfielder and 1 goal, Japan won the 2nd place. He played 7 games and scored 1 goal for Japan until 2019.
