"Raining Blood" is a song by the American thrash metal band Slayer. It was released in 1986 in the album Reign in Blood. The song was written by Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. "Raining Blood" is one of Slayer's biggest hits.[1]

The song is about a man in Purgatory killing angels in Heaven.[2] It ends with a minute of rain sounds. Hannemen and King have said that it is the song they like playing at concerts the most.[3] Concert versions of "Raining Blood" have been put on many of the band's compilation albums.

It is used in the games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Guitar Hero 3.[4] In Guitar Hero 3, it is one of the most difficult songs to play.[5]
