Welcome
[change source]Hello! I noticed that you may have come here from another Wikipedia, so you know a little about how things work here. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! Here are some links to help you adjust:
- Writing in Simple English
- Where to ask questions and discuss things
- How to copy from another Wikipedia
- Some of our active users
There's a lot to do here. Most of it is writing articles that do not exist yet, which you can do by translating from other Wikipedias, but have a look around and see what you want to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need any help. Peterdownunder (talk) 22:44, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the new articles
[change source]Hello, and thanks for the new articles you created about places in China. If you create any more, could you include more information about them? We usually like to have more information about places besides what kind of place they are (city, county, etc.) and where they are. You could say something about the population, any places of interest there, anything historically significant about them, etc.
I've reformatted some of the articles you created and made the categories more specific, so you might want to take a look at what I did. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again! --Auntof6 (talk) 02:02, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply on my talk page. I see you're still creating the very short "X is a place in Y" articles, as we call them. We discourage mass creation of this kind of article like you're doing. If the only information about the places is that they exist, it would be better to make an article that just lists them. Please expand the articles you've already created before you create more. You could look on English Wikipedia to see if they have articles on these places, and include information from there. Thanks for you cooperation. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:47, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Remember...
[change source]... not to welcome editors until they make some constructive (good) edits. We don't want to welcome people who turn out to be vandals! Macdonald-ross (talk) 21:26, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

[change source]Hello! Thank you for creating Category:Egyptian Muslims. However, we normally need at least three pages in a category before it is created. Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 22:01, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Mohamed Aboutrika
[change source]Sections of Mohamed_Aboutrika are copied and pasted from English Wikipedia without being simplified to I requested quick deletion. We really have to make the language simple on this wiki. -- Gotanda (talk) 14:56, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
User warnings
[change source]Hello, Mohamed. I noticed that you left a level 4im warning (also called an "only" warning) for IP user 209.52.88.173. That user already had earlier warnings, so the 4im warning was not needed. Level 4im warnings are not the next level after level 4. They are intended to be used by themselves, when vandalism is so severe that graduated warnings will not be given. Examples of this kind of vandalism are cyberbullying and threats of violence. If a user vandalizes after receiving a level 4 warning (also called a "final" warning), the next step is to report them at WP:VIP. No further warnings are needed after that, even if there is more vandalism. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:58, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
Damietta...
[change source]Hello Mohammed, and welcome to Simple English Wikipedia. As to my edits to Damietta (or Domyat): I don't have an Arabic keyboard, and I don't speak Arabic. So all I can do is copy the Arabic script I find at the Eglish Wikipedia. I also did not find any pleasing photograph of Damietta. Big question though: The city has over 300.000 people, are there any photographs that are pleasing to look at? - As to the cheese: I guess it is similar to the sheep/goat's milk chees they make in Greece, and Turkey (which they call Feta, if it is from a very limited region in Greece)? Best regards --Eptalon (talk) 09:40, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
