You'll need to wait. An admin will soon review it. If the subject is notable, the deleting admin will remove the QD template. If it doesn't assert notability, the page will be deleted. Best, – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 12:57, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[change source]

I formally request to remain apprised of your block situation on en.wiki.

  • My intent at this time: To tell the admins you were a constructive contributor to F&F 2024 so they may take that into consideration.
  • Rights I reserve: 1) To change my mind if I come across information new to me. 2) To forget I asked.
  • Relevant guideline/Why I'm requesting: en:WP:APPNOTE

This makes it officially not canvassing if you tell me you're up for unblock. Feel free to disregard if you feel an ol' con like me would hurt your chances. :) Darkfrog24 (talk) 02:59, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Darkfrog24, Thank you very much for offering to support me regarding my block situation on enwiki. I would be very grateful if you could advocate on my behalf to the EnWiki admins. I respect your rights in this matter. Thanks again for your support. :) – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 09:21, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please let me go through and correct my errors so I can learn from my mistakes? It has been a year since I have been on and I forget some things. I am back tracing through what I did and correcting it. I would appreciate it. I am also connecting things to wikidata as I am getting to them. It is the way I work and I would appreciate being able to work on the articles I am working on to get them stable and unified. Thanks - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 11:40, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I actively review new categories and pages that are created and connect them to Wikidata. The same thing happened with your creations. But sure, I'll leave them for you to work on. – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 12:20, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it does happen as I do them in bulk instead of one by one. I try to work smarter and not harder so back and forth between multiple pages for me is cumbersome so I keep things on my notepad and then connect them. I do appreciate the help though. I just have to re-learn a few things. I do have a bot in the works that once I test it will do a lot of stuff for us on this wiki. Revisions to the Punjabi dialects

[change source]

Hello. You have reverted my edits on several articles. Although, I had recently sourced all of them and the Punjabi dialects page is not only about the dialects of "standard Punjabi", and the matter of fact is that Punjabi is only standardized in India comprising the forms of the language native to Indian Punjab, it is about all the dialects of Punjabi. The status of Lahnda as a macrolanguage is widely disputed and challenged by many linguists as the sources suggest and is recognized as a part of Punjabi, with its further classification within Punjabi being a point of discussion amongst linguists. Kindly note this. Thanks. PakistanHistorian (talk) 16:21, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @PakistanHistorian, welcome to Simple Wikipedia! Lahnda languages like Saraiki and Hindko have a separate status in the official censuses of Pakistan. The status of these languages as a macrolanguage is not disputed; it is defined in the ISO 639 standard as a "macrolanguage". I have moved the page to Punjabi dialects and languages per EnWiki. Lahnda languages can be included now, but their status should be mentioned as Punjabic languages and not dialects. And please discuss on the respective article's talk pages before reverting edits. Best – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 15:18, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The status of Saraiki and Hindko as separate languages can not be determined by whether the Government of Pakistan recognizes it as such in its censuses. There are many other dialects/varieties of Lahnda (Western Punjabi) that are included within Punjabi in Pakistani censuses, so that proves that linguistic classification can't depend on that. The status of these languages is disputed under the references I cited. That's why a middle-ground is to represent them as "varieties" rather than "dialects" that is employed by linguists and that is factual too as these are varieties containing many dialect and are also referred to as "group of dialects". The "Punjabic languages" is a disputed and not widely recognized term, hence linguists use the word "Punjabi" while still accepting their distinct characteristics from other dialects/varieties under Punjabi's subclassification. Instead of using, disputed terms such as "Punjabic language" or even "Punjabi dialect", the widely accepted one is "Punjabi variety/group of dialects". I'd suggest building consensus on the respective articles' talk pages before making such changes. Please also review WP:NPOV and WP:OR. Additionally, refrain from reverting non-vandal edits without providing explanations to avoid getting involved in edit wars. – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 15:05, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. When making QD requests in future, please check the history of the article to see whether a QD request was already made. If it was declined the first time, it won't be (or at least shouldn't be) accepted the second. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:45, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Got it, will do. Thanks! – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 02:36, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

[change source]

Hey just wanted to let you know that when you change an article, that is more than just fixing a spelling error or fixing grammar (i.e. "Spelling of chick really that important?" when it should be "Is the spelling of chick really that important?" would be a grammar fix. Simplifying an I jrticle is not minor. Just wanted to let you know.
