Horror film article on English Wikipedia

[change source]

Dear friend I have a request for you on the article horror film on English Wikipedia can you replace that George A. Remero image with a 1970s blockbuster horror film poster image either the exorcist or Halloween which ever is better. Niehddydudyd (talk) 05:42, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Niehddydudyd: I don't understand why you're posting on my Simple Wikipedia talk page to ask me to make an edit to an English Wikipedia article. The older posters in the en:Horror film article are public domain images, while en:File:Exorcist ver2.jpg and en:File:Halloween (1978) theatrical poster.jpg are on the English Wikipedia under a fair use license, which might explain why they are only used in the infobox of en:The Exorcist (film) and en:Halloween (1978 film) respectively. If you have other suggestions for this article, I suggest you make them at en:Talk:Horror film. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 17:37, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, could you explain why you unlinked "back" where "thighs" and "legs" were linked just next to that? 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:40, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@1234qwer1234qwer4: Hi there! Thigh and leg are articles. Back is a disambiguation page, and there doesn't seem to be a good target for the link, but I'm open to your suggestions. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 19:55, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for cite cleanup

Got quite an easy cause of CS1 errors, one that I had forgotten to mention for some reason, but remembered again just now. Wikilinked dates in one of the date parameters. For an example see Chicane (musician). I'm guessing it's just as simple as telling the bot to remove any '[' or ']' characters from any date parameters? Mako001 (C)  (T)  12:07, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Mako001: Hi there! My rules unlinked from various date parameters, but not from the |year= parameter. I've updated the bot to make changes like this. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:00, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's it. Thanks. Mako001 (C)  (T)  22:21, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Got another one. I've seen a lot of cases where an ISO format date has been attempted, but the leading zero from the month or date has been omitted, for an example of this see Chris Benoit. Mako001 (C)  (T)  22:35, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mako001: The challenge with this is the bot wouldn't know whether it's missing a 0 or 1 or 2. I checked the history and confirmed that it was indeed missing a leading zero, and manually made the fixes. GoingBatty (talk) 03:17, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I get what you mean. I was thinking it was fairly safe to assume that it is supposed to be a zero, since they seem to be trying to do ISO format dates. I'll keep fixing them manually then. Mako001 (C)  (T)  07:00, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
