Don't follow English wiki
[change source]Sir don't follow English Wikipedia the actual name are Ahir and not Aheer. Actually English Wikipedia has pages named Yaduvanshi Ahir, Yaduvanshi Ahirs and Yaduvanshi Aheer but some have been merged into Ahir page so English Wikipedia has only Yaduvanshi Aheer 2409:4053:2D12:76A:0:0:81C9:6615 (talk) 21:54, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- I changed the main article to Yaduvanshi Aheer, but Yaduvanshi Ahir still redirects to it. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 21:55, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

WikiProjects
[change source]Hello, InfernoGaming46, and welcome to Simple English Wikipedia. Thank you for creating WikiProject Komi. You probably didn't know that we manage WikiProjects differently here. Besides managing them in userspace, here are some other differences:
- We do not use categories for individual WikiProjects. There is Category:WikiProjects for the project pages and Category:WikiProject user templates for WikiProject user templates.
- We do not use categories for WikiProject participants. Participants can be listed on individual project pages.
- We do not use WikiProject banners on article talk pages.
I have removed unneeded categories from the necessary pages for your WikiProject.
If you would like to know other ways that this wiki is different from English Wikipedia, you can look at this list I maintain of many of those differences. The list itself is not policy or guideline, but it links to some relevant policies and guidelines.
If you have questions about any of this, feel free to ask! -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:35, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 14:53, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
Please do not blank redirects, just like you did to this page. I changed this page to a disambiguation page. Please be extra careful from next time. MathXplore (talk) 03:46, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
Hello! Thank you for creating Category:Cities and towns in Orenburg Oblast. However, we normally need at least three pages in a category before it is created. Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. If you think there might be more pages to add to the new category, please add them now. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 03:48, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

I noticed that some of the navboxes in this category do not have blue links in the main body. Navboxes with this kind of problem can be nominated for deletion, just like Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Template:Thai diaspora. In order to keep the templates that you made, you might need to make relevant articles as soon as possible. MathXplore (talk) 14:37, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I will try and get some articles done soon. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 15:17, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
Moving pages
[change source]Hello, when you are moving pages, sometimes you'll encounter pages that cannot be moved because the target wasn't created as a redirect, or wasn't a redirect at some point in its history. If you see this, please tag the target page for deletion with qd-housekeep, and an admin will delete it. After that, you can move the page to the target. In this case, Berga should have been tagged for deletion. After it is deleted, Berga (Spain, Catalonia) can be moved there. Moving pages this way preserves the page's edit history. Cut and paste moves are generally discouraged because they don't preserve the edit history. Thanks! — *Fehufangą ♮ ✉ Talk page 23:58, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you, I was unaware of this. I'll keep this in mind! InfernoGaming46 (talk) 23:59, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation page for Marl
[change source]Hi, InfernoGaming46. Thanks for creating Marl (disambiguation). You might not have known, but on dab pages there should be only one blue link per entry. Several of the entries on the page had more than one, so I have removed the extra ones. When an entry's article is redlinked, you can choose one term in the rest of the entry to be a blue link. If you'd like to learn more about this, the guideline for this is at en:WP:DABBLUE. Thanks again! -- Auntof6 (talk) 21:31, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
- Also, if you do choose a different term to be a blue link, it should be one that is related to the subject. For example, if the entry is for a city but there's no article for the city, you could link the place that the city is in, but you wouldn't link "city" because that wouldn't have anything about the city itself. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:33, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, I wasn't sure about the rules for it on the Simple English wiki, just in case it needed extra explanation. Thanks! InfernoGaming46 (talk) 21:36, 6 October 2022 (UTC)

I think the relation with Bryansk should be explained in some way. You may use the talk page for the redirect if needed. MathXplore (talk) 15:24, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- I was just going off of the enwiki redirects, and enwiki doesn't say anything about it. Apparently its a railway station in Bryansk. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 15:42, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
I think it's a good idea to leave your signature when striking out comments. This may be needed so others can understand why the comments have a strike out. MathXplore (talk) 13:48, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oh did I cross out the signature on accident? InfernoGaming46 (talk) 13:49, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
- No, the first signature when you made the comment is OK. The problem is, since your comments have a strike out without any reason/explanation in the page or edit summary, others may not understand why the comments have a strike out. If you have decided to withdraw your former comments, I recommend giving a brief reason and another signature. MathXplore (talk) 13:56, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
Talk pages
[change source]Hi there! If you tag a page for deletion, you don't need to tag the talk page, if it is also created. Admins are notified that they can delete the talk page once the main article is gone, and there is even now just a tickbox that can be used to delete the talk page at the same time as the article. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 16:43, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- I tagged the talk page because the main page was nonexistent before because it had been deleted, but the main page was recreated after. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 16:44, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, that's unusual. Sorry for misunderstanding and thanks for all the bad pages you tag for quick deletion. --Ferien (talk) 16:45, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- It's fine, I just wanted to let you know that the IP account that is making that page keeps recreating it after it is deleted. InfernoGaming46 (talk) 16:46, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

RfD nomination of Template:Set index article
[change source]An editor has requested deletion of Template:Set index article, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Template:Set index article and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. MathXplore (talk) 08:25, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't learn that we didn't use that template until I had already created it. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 22:11, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
- @InfernoGaming46: In that case, if you're OK with deleting it, you could put an QD/G7 request on it. That way we could delete it without having to wait for the discussion. -- Auntof6 (talk) 22:42, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

You might not have known, but where there's a category for a musical group, the only category you put it in is Category:Categories named after musical groups. All other categories go on the article for the group. MathXplore (talk) 07:39, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
More simplifications might be needed to this page. I divided the intro part into several sections, this will make things easier. MathXplore (talk) 07:40, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Linking categories
[change source]Just thought I should let you know that if you want to link to a category, you need to write it as :Category:Category instead of . Doing it the second way will add the category to the page. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 20:45, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

[change source]Welcome, and thanks very much for your recent changes to the Wikipedia article "Biysk". However, please take a moment to review your changes for spelling, grammatical, capitalization, and punctuation errors before you save. This will help lessen the editing others must do on the article, and will help keep Wikipedia looking neat and professional.
This message is not meant to discourage you from changing Wikipedia but rather to encourage the best possible writing from our authors. Please take a look at the Manual of Style and the welcome page to learn more about changing this encyclopedia. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 05:04, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, sorry about that. For some reason the "-es" at the end of websites wasn't showing up for me as I was editing, but I guess it appeared after I saved the changes. However, I don't think this situation warrants this message. It's not like I made a big error or something, and I couldn't see the error anyways. All that was necessary was a little tweak. [change source]Please leave the template saying
"Northeastern Ukraine warfare"
...
"Eastern Ukraine campaign".
(User:MathExplorer and other users might weigh in on what simple words should be in the template.--Simple thought/ arguable claim: All warfare in East Ukraine in 2022/2023 has been part of the so-called "Eastern Ukraine campaign"; Depending on what degree one regards that as true, that will largely impact what words one can accept in the template.) Invitation for a small-small stub
[change source]Good evening from Europe, user:InfernoGaming46! Southern Ukraine campaign. Please consider starting a stub. (In that case, I have an intention to let that be "your" article.) Many Wikipedia-users might learn something from you; such as how to start an article with 3 or 4 well-chosen sentences/ periods.--Thereafter, I suggest that other users (and myself), will ask questions on the article's talk page.--The best case scenario, is that, what you say on the talk page, will be enough for others to expand the article - to your high/excellent standards.--Perhaps you can start a stub (3 or 4 sentences), as one of the last things, on any day in the future. If any of this works out, then fine.--Regarding "your" Bakhmut-battle article: Wow! Respectully, 46.15.119.36 (talk) 19:48, 5 January 2023 (UTC)/ 46.15.119.36 (talk) 19:57, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

[change source]"Battle of Soledar, ongoing battle; The frontline is near Soledar".--Please check with someone, if there is an established practice on Simple-wiki, to often (or most of the time), allow for capital letter after a semi-colon (if the capital letter is the start of a sentence/ "period" that is a complete thought with a verb and a subject).--The way that you made the relevant edit, is the norm in high school and uni, so I am not arguing that.--Simple-wiki on the other hand, is a somewhat different institution perhaps.--If user:Ferien and user:Eptalon, say that I am totally wrong on this issue, then I will have to eat my words of suggestion. 46.15.114.88 (talk) 15:17, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- Semicolons are not followed by a capital letter as they are not a terminal form of punctuation. The only time this would happen would be if the word is a proper noun, which “The” is not. I don’t see why we would completely change the rules of English here on simplewiki, especially since we don’t meddle in semicolons frequently to begin with. I also don’t see how having a capital letter after the semicolon would make it simpler, especially since it might convince non-native speakers (one of the most common of our audiences) that it is correct. Request for Sysop, Content Moderator, and Oversighter
[change source]Hello! I would like to request for Sysop, Content Moderator, and Oversighter because I make pages and might as well add information to pages! LilGoober4u (talk) 15:27, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, for requests for these roles, please go to WP:RFP and follow the steps listed there. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 19:35, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- @LilGoober4u: Hi! It's great that you're interested in helping, but I think you might be misunderstanding these roles. Sysop, also known as Admin allows a user to delete and protect pages, and block users, along with some other rights. A user can become an admin after a vote by the community at WP:RFA. You could nominate yourself there, but I think it's unlikely you would succeed because you haven't been here for that long yet. Oversighter is a permission that is only available to users who are already admins. It allows a user to delete edits from public view so that even admins cannot see them. There is no such thing as a "Content moderator" on Simple English Wikipedia. You don't need these rights to do the things you said you want to do. Best, Lights and freedom (talk) 20:37, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Armoured fighting vehicle
[change source]Armoured fighting vehicle - what should that redirect to, in your opinion? (Also, I can not rule out that it might be better to have a red-link, than link to "Tank". In my view, a tank has a cannon, in addition to its other charachteristics.)--In the case of [File:Iraqi military men riding on tank.jpg - Wikimedia Commons this one], I am thinking it might be simple to say that it is a "kind of armoured combat vehicle: an armoured fighting vehicle". - I think it should have its own article because it is a larger term than "tank". Tanks are a type of AFV, but there are other types. I can try and find time to make it later. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 13:12, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

- Oh ok, thought it was for a different page for some reason. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 13:46, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
Template: which Hromada in which Raion in which Oblast (Ukraine)
[change source]If possible, please have a look at the template, at the end of "Zaporizhzhia Oblast ".--I think that it should stay simple, and only deal with things that have the status of Raion.--If the layout is not okay, then please let the talk page now. (I have used the only layout that I know, that can mention Raion A, and Hromada 1,2,3. Then Raion B, and Hromada 4,5,6, and so on.)--I might be attending to some related subjects, regarding relevant Raions that now have Russian forces with capability (or interest) to move closer to the Russia-Ukraine border. 2001:2020:307:6B12:4ED:A363:FAA2:F23 (talk) 16:42, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- We don’t have to get rid of the hromadas in my opinion. Just because we use Simple English here doesn’t mean that we have to not include information. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 18:10, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm going to go ahead and remove the hromadas and replace them with the normal settlements as it is unlikely there will be pages for them here. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 20:25, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
