User talk:Newage2007
Hello, Newage2007, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.
Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.
If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Hi!
[change source]Hi there! :) I'd like to congratulate you on your excellent and prolific work on Chinese history matters; it is much appreciated. I do feel, tho, that the language you're using is, by the most part, somewhat complicated and not easily understandable by many foreign readers. I suggest you check our guideline on How to write Simple English articles; and before creating any new ones, revisit and simplify the ones you've already created. Let me know if I can help you in the task. Again, thank you, and have a nice weeekend! Phaedriel - 15:09, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your prompt and kind reply! :) The issue lies in the selection of certain words that might not be easily understandable by some people whose knowledge of English is not very high. A few examples from Sun Quan are, "righteous", "deposed", "struggles", "abdicated", et al. This is easily understandable for you or me; but it's better to rephrase words like these into easier forms when writing in Simple English; ie. "struggles", fights; "abdicated", quit the throne; etc. Sometimes it's difficult to find the proper, simpler word; but that's exactly what SImple English is about! ;) Hope this helps. Have a beautiful day, Phaedriel - 17:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Any time, my new friend :) Please let me now if I can help you in any way, k? Love, Phaedriel - 17:50, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[change source]Hi, I noticed you're fluentin Chinese so I was wondering if you might know some things about Chinese music, whether modern/popular or classical/traditional. If so, would you like to join my Simple WikiProject Asian Music? Even small contributions are much appreciated. Thanks. Alexhl (talk) 12:51, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
