Simple News News

We Are One! Simple News is now One Year Old, and we would like to thank all of the Simple English Wikipedia contributors who have helped with it during this time. As we move into our second year please continue to send in your contributions, and let's try to develop Simple News further!

On that note, please do continue to submit articles, QandAs and the like. You may have noticed that recent Issues have been fairly bare - and the only way that will change will be with your help.

Thank You!

Rollbacker status

I thought I'd highlight this to you here, since you're retired from SE Wikiquote. It's nothing serious, really, but I was quite surprised that you granted me rollbacker status there 2 months back, even when I didn't request for it!  :) Thank you for that, I really appreciate it. See you around!-- Tdxiang 03:27, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, sorry, logged off suddenly on campus. See you around!-- Tdxiang 03:28, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

can you pass on the message if this is not the right place

I can't believe that you really have left us. I am OVERWHELMED with sadness; you were one of the BIGGEST inspirations to me in all of my life. Words cannot even begin to express the sorrow I feel today. I will miss you so much. Your legacy will continue to inspire countless generations to come...

Mr. Jackson, you are LEGEND. Your invention of the moonwalk changed the world of dance. Your music videos were revolutionary. Your loving, humanitarian efforts inspired people everywhere. Your style, your lyrics, your music CHANGED OUR WORLD FOREVER. You are a creative and artistic genius, and that fact is undeniable. You truly are the KING, now and forever more.

Ever since I was a toddler &learned every single word to ALL of the songs you ever made, you have been an inspiration to me. I had always hoped to meet you one day, to sing with you. That was my ultimate dream. I know that you are in a better place now, and I hope that you now can find complete peace and true happiness. You deserve it. Mr. Jackson, you truly have changed my life forever. It is because of you that I fell in love with music. It amazes me to think that I am only one of MILLIONS who has been so greatly touched by your music, and your legacy. I want to THANK YOU for that, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you SO much for all that you have given to me, as an artist and as a person, and for all that you have given to the world. ♥

Rest in Peace, my hero. I love you.

This is an encyclopedia. Please read WP:NOT. Pmlineditor  13:45, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ooops.

Um, thank you for deleting the talk page in War and Peace. I'm sorry to have given you so much trouble by writing what must certainly have seemed like nonsense, but it was because someone had put an unsigned and very offensive comment there with swearwords inside it and I did not quite know what to do. If you will be so kind as to write a reply to this, please write it in my talk page! ^^ Goodbye. Classical Esther (talk) 08:46, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It'll be a better idea tagging the pages as QD G8 or QD G3. You might try the Twinkle tool. Pmlineditor  08:52, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You can set it in your preferences ('my settings'). иιƒкч? 08:57, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Or by adding the text: importScript('User:EhJJ/twinkle.js'); to your monobook.js and purging the cache by using Ctrl+F5. Pmlineditor  08:59, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mmm. Thank you very much for your kind condescension in your helpful advice! You seem to be a great editor and very important to Simple Wikipedia! (Your energetic edits and quantity of knowledge really amazes me). You don't have to reply if you're too busy: just know I really appreciate it! Classical Esther (talk) 09:22, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gasp.

Oh, sorry to bother you again, but I see you've deleted Mansfield Park. Could you please be so kind as to tell me why? Surely the article in itself is very important - Mansfield Park is a famous classic indeed - so please tell me how I have erred in Wikipedia's guidelines for writing about it. Classical Esther (talk) 10:04, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted it per A5 - the article was a direct copy from the English Wikipedia and direct copying is not allowed on any WMF project. I have no doubts about its importance; however the article was a copyright violation. Regards, Pmlineditor  10:05, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ohh. So that's it. I did copy the external links. But I actually wrote most of the plot myself. ㅠㅠ Too bad. Well, thanks anyway. I'll try harder next time. Yours truly, Classical Esther (talk) 12:41, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please, bring me back my hard work!

Excuse me, I'm very obliged to you for concerning about my page, "Northanger Abbey", but is it true that you are the person who actually erased all of the plot? True, true, I'm afraid I copied a bit of the English Wikipedia version, as "Barras" says, but it was very hard work to change all the hard words, summarize it more easily, ect. to make it convenient for Simple Wikipedia. I wasted hours working on it, and now it is all - gone with the wind! I do not mean any offense, and hope I have not given any, but - if you please - bring me back my Northanger Abbey! O, if you have enough mercy, than I am sure you will - but perhaps it is not worthy of being inside the page - I admit that perhaps I did not write it very correctly.... Anyhow, sorry for bothering you, and if you have time, please write to me a reply! I am, Yours Very Truly, Pretty Lydie (talk) 06:43, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Yotcmdr"

Hello Pmlineditor.

I notice that User:Pmlineditor#My friends on wiki has not yet been updated to reflect Yottie (talk · contribs)'s current username, and you still list it as the former "Yotcmdr". Could you please update it to reflect their current username? Thanks. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 06:31, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe if I get time. Pmlineditor  07:49, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, dear!

They can't be deleted? Then what do I do? I don't want to be blocked.... And I certainly don't want to be a sockpuppet. Can you help me :( ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pretty Lydie (talkcontribs)

  • User accounts can't be deleted. You can't choose whether to be a sockpuppet or not when you've edited using 2 or more accounts at the same time, and no one can help you erase them or your past, unfortunately. Nifky^ 08:57, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Reading the Wikipedia:Sock puppet article, the extra accounts could be "retired", and then perhaps protected if need be? Thoughts on this idea?--Peterdownunder (talk) 11:44, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the late reply. I think it is a good idea to retire and protect the accounts and let Pretty Lydie edit with her main account. Pmlineditor  12:28, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A Barnstar

The Admin's Barnstar
For Pmlineditor who works hard on many parts of the Simple English Wikipedia. In particular he has looked after the Did You Know section on the front page, keeping it up to date. Our front page is our window to the world, so it is a very important part of our wiki, well done. Peterdownunder (talk) 12:26, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much. :) Pmlineditor  12:29, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
