Looking over the remaining "high" priority items, I have a couple notes to make - mainly on items that don't need to be dealt with.
- ISBN wrong position of X - Jan Zweyer: That ISBN is totally fine. Trying multiple versions (straight and dash format, 10 and 13 digit code) seems to all pop positive for an error, but the Book source page shows no problems linking that ISBN to a correct book.
- Source not correct end - MediaWiki:Robots.txt: don't see any reason why that source should be closed.
- Template programming element - Uranus: False positive dealing with "{|". It sees it as an unbalanced template call (3 left, 2 right) but it is actually "{" and then the template "{{!}}" which yields "{|" to start a table. It is perfectly correct.
- Template with Unicode control characters - Multiple pages: These I can find nothing wrong with. The writeup on the error says they are hard to deal with manually, but easy to do automatically (bot/awb). I ran them through AWB with Unicode activated and it found nothing to change.. not certain what can be done here.
- A forced recheck of un-texted images was done. With it showing just under 4K images needing descriptions and all the changes over the 2 months since the check, it was best to just tag them all done and let the system recheck them. Its a slow process which is only yielding a handful of rechecks daily to be fixed, which is easy to get a handle on. The biggest offenders so far are from the football player infobox articles - the infobox does not not self link so the entire file coding is needed, and hense an image description. Flags are another big issue. A lot can be easily fixed by shifting to flag or flagicon templates. --Creol(talk) 03:29, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, there are things that get flagged that don't need correcting.
- As for the ISBN, I thought 13-digit ISBNs weren't supposed to have an X, but I'm not sure. Maybe CheckWiki isn't doing that check correctly.
- I think the software just wants all tags to be closed. Sometimes I just close them to clear the errors.
- This is one kind of thing the software isn't programmed for.
- It seems to me that AWB used to do more fixes of this type of thing than it does now. Maybe there were issues with the AWB programming.
- No comment from me!
- Once we get the CheckWiki processing to pay attention to our translation page, we can tell it not to check some of these if we want. Some of the errors are already set that way. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:48, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
