Sources
Hi, I saw you mentioned on the article drive page that you're interested in collecting sources. I was wondering, as you've been so helpful to me since I joined, if you could assist me and go over the Star Trek page I've been working on and give me a few pointers on what sources I might need and where? If you do have time, this would be a massive help to me and my drive to get the Star Trek pages all cleaned up, and would help me know where to put in sources in other pages. :) FrancesO (talk) 11:54, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Worked properly that time. I swear I never even typed the word F-type into hotcat. And I don't get how that redlink cat is showing up. Can you look at the wikicode for me and see if you can see it in there. Hotcat says it can't remove it. fr33kman talk 03:40, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- No reason to. If it worked properly, then it should be fine. Cheers, Razorflame 03:42, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As to the fires - the main fire is still burning after a month, two firefighters were hurt yesterday when they rolled their firetruck. It is raining today, the first rain here for over two months, so this might help, but there is a lot of lightning which will probably start new fires. The kids at school were out dancing in the rain - it has become a novelty.Peterdownunder (talk) 07:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bot for updating wiki links?
Hello, I saw that you had deleted Nebuchadrezzar II as an unlikely spelling of Nebuchadnezzar II. Unfortunately other language Wikipedias link to the old -rezzar spelling. Do you know if there is a bot that updates these links? I know that there is a bot that adds these links, but I don't know if it checks for any changes. Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 16:00, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Hey LovesMacs (just jumping in)
- Many users run "interwiki bots" and they go through pages periodically. One such editor is Razorflame. I'm sure if you asked him he would run the bot on that page for you.
- Thanks, Goblin 16:02, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Do you need the page restoring? I've no issues with it, I just didn't think that many English speakers would use that spelling. I agree you should ask Razorflame fr33kman talk 16:03, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- There's no need to restore it. Remember every wiki is separate and although one does it one way, the rest can all be different. The system will catch up eventually once an interwiki bot is run. Goblin 16:13, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, don't have access to my bot's program where I am editing currently. I would be willing to run it later tonight, however, I'm currently at school, so I cannot run it right now. Cheers, Razorflame 16:12, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I've restored it anyway. I've done a Google search on it, and there are enough hits to justify the rediect. Redirects are cheap and are generally considered helpful! :) fr33kman talk 16:13, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage redesign?
Hello! Glad to see you're interested in my redesigning your userpage. First, I have some questions I would like to ask you:
- What color scheme would you prefer?
- What ambience would you like your page to have?
- Any special requests? Do you already have ideas for the redesign?
Cheers, –obentomusubi 06:10, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Anything really. I like all colors (reds, blues, purples, pinks etc.) I like my colors to be subdued however, and am not a fan of bold, bright color schemes. I like things in little boxes (collapsable or not. A mixture of editor links and admin links would be good also. Just go for it! fr33kman talk 20:24, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Alright. I'll go for dimmer colors like the one on my profile (bright, but not as saturated) and I'll let you customize your links. :) Cheers, –obentomusubi 20:37, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yesterday...
I was reading Simple Talk when I got your message. What a day - looks like I should stay home and not go to work just to keep up! Half the time I'm not sure I know what they are arguing about. If someone wants to spend their time making nice icons I think that's great, but I'm not going to get stressed about it. And I know you and I will disagree on fair use images, but I'd rather be editing than fighting - some of these battles just don't seem that critical. The one interesting point that Razorflame made was having discussion pages under topics rather than a rambling simple talk - might help keep some sort of continuity in the discussions.
- Yeah, as I told The Obento Musubi; unless you are going to be worrying about it on your death-bed, it's not important now! Agree that ST is becoming too bogged down in drama. And yes, we can always disagree, but we'll always be respectful! :) fr33kman talk 06:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We have had a bit of rain here so the fires (which are still going) are now under control - I can't smell smoke anymore. The police think they have found enough bodies to match with all the people listed as missing, so the death toll is 210, but there are some fairly badly burnt people in hospital.
- If these fires were started as arson, I hope your police find those responsible and toss away the key! fr33kman talk 06:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User categories RFDs
Was it decided somewhere that we should removed the RFDs on the user categories because of the discussion on Simple Talk? I don't see where this was decided. Unless there is clear consensus to do so, please restore these RFDs. the RFDs are wholly separate from the Simple talk discussion. Even if we decide at ST to keep user categories, there still seems to be consensus to delete these particular categories. Either way (talk) 21:03, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
