Vespa velutina eradication

[change source]

Regarding this article. Eptalon has deleted it as a hoax and I've deleted the talk page since the main page no longer exists. It may be a hoax or it may be a goal. I couldn't find anything on Google to indicate there is a concerted effort to eradicate this species. Either way now that it has been deleted the correct course of action going forward is to request a deletion review. Hope this helps. fr33kman 20:04, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to Wikipedia. However, some of your changes, like those to "Eradication of infectious diseases", did not seem to be helpful and have been reverted or removed. If you want to try out changing Wikipedia to learn more about how it works, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Your recent changes reverting changes removing out of date or otherwise incorrect information noted with careful edit summaries is not helpful. Gotanda (talk) 04:34, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Guinea worm

[change source]

On Eradication of infectious diseases, you added, "Former President of the United States of America Carter wants to make Guinea Worm the 2nd eradicated human disease. The Carter Center's International Task Force for Disease Eradication (ITFDE) works to achieve this goal." with the reference International Task Force for Disease Eradication (ITFDE) (2023). "Summary of the Thirty-Fifth Meeting of the International Task Force for Disease Eradication (ITFDE)" (PDF). However, that reference does not mention President Carter. IT does describe NTDs but not Guinea worm. Just tacking on irrelevant references is not helpful and may be considered disruptive. --Gotanda (talk) 23:29, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[change source]

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Sterilization of Native American women" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 03:35, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I extended compulsory sterilization. I am not an expert, and mainly copied what was zjrtr om other Wikipeias. Looking at it: it seems to have been common in the first half of the 20th century. I don't know if its useful, but you might want ot cross-link or summarize your articles in that one. Hello @BZPN: This unusually large number of simultaneous RfDs – Pathways of African immigration to the United States of America, Methods of African immigration to the United States of America, Mexican–American deportations (1929–1939), Mexican–American deportations, Mexican–American deportation, Mexican–American deportation (1929–1939), Chicano ineligibility for food stamps in the United States of America, Chiafalo v. Washington, 591 U.S. 578 (2020), Motivations for mass sterilization of Native American women, Methods of coercive sterilization of Hawaiian women, Arguments for coercive sterilization of Hawaiian women, Coercive sterilization of Hawaiian women, Mass sterilization of Hawaiian women, Motivations for coercive sterilization of Native American women, Mass sterilization of Native American women, Abusive sterilization of Native American women, Coercive sterilization of Native American women – obviously makes it impossible for me to respond effectively and in any case my response will be the same: Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not for what RfD requires. None of these qualify. Invasive Spices (talk) 21:10, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your point about the number of RfD's is a valid one. I think having one RfD per target, with each redirect listed there and asking editors to dicuss keeping all, deleting all or a mix of the two would have been a better approach as the same comments are being made on all of them. Too late for this, but I will also leave a comment on BZPN's talk page with this thought for the future. It makes the discussions easier to track for everyone involved and would make participation simpler for everyone. Ravensfire (talk) 18:11, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Caution

[change source]

Good evening! As noted on this talk page, many articles and redirects that you have created have been nominated for deletion, which indicates a pattern of editing that other editors have identified as problematic. After review of history on other WMF projects, it appears that this editing behaviour is something that was identified as an issue elsewhere.

This is a formal caution that our blocking and banning policy has a specific section that applies to users who have been blocked indefinitely at other projects. In order to avoid any issues, I recommend that you do not continue to create redirects as you did on English Wikipedia, but to focus your editing energy elsewhere. We have a lot of work to get done on this project that does not involve redirects, and I'm happy to help point you in that direction.

Welcome again, and I hope you form a productive member of our editing community. Griff (talk) 23:13, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As for the rest of that, "unhelpful redirects" is a funny reason for a block – but then again you know very well that's not what happened don't you. If you really want to bring a problem from another wiki, immitate the behavior of someone who was blocked by meta:User:WMFOffice for safety reasons toward other Wikipedians, and then has recently been blocked again for WP:OUTING that required WP:Oversighting… you are free to do so. Invasive Spices (talk) 20:35, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello @Adelaideslement8723:

Yeah, I saw invasive spices's supposed "CE" when it was actually a hostile response. Which I would totally remove. because hostile comments like that are not okay, and they scare away users who are trying to help out the project.

Can you provide the diff? Invasive Spices (talk) 20:09, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
